THE LINGUISTICS OF SOCIAL MEDIA( INSIGHTS FROM ENGLISH AND UZBEK MATERIALS)
Abstract
Abstract: Social media has become an integral part of modern communication, influencing not only the way people interact but also the evolution of language itself. This paper explores the field of social media linguistics, focusing on how digital communication platforms shape linguistic practices, including the creation of new vocabulary, the adaptation of grammar, and the emergence of unique discourse styles. Drawing upon a combination of English and Uzbek sources, the study investigates both theoretical frameworks and empirical findings to highlight the interplay between social media and language development. The analysis demonstrates that social media not only reflects societal changes but also actively contributes to linguistic innovation, with implications for education, communication, and cultural expression.
