Global iqlim o‘zgarishi va transchegaraviy suv resurslarining keskin kamayishi sharoitida, Markaziy Osiyo mintaqasida, xususan, O‘zbekistonda chuchuk suv resurslarining 90% dan ortig‘i qishloq xo‘jaligi va sug‘orish ehtiyojlariga yo‘naltirilmoqda. Yirik magistral kanallarda suv taqsimotini real vaqt rejimida (real-time) optimal boshqarish suv resurslari taqchilligining salbiy oqibatlarini yumshatishda strategik ahamiyatga ega.
Yirik sug‘orish kanallarida suv oqimining harakati muvozanatlashmagan, statsionar bo‘lmagan (unsteady) gidravlik qonuniyatlar va dinamik to‘lqinli tebranishlar ostida kechadi. Shlyuz darvozalarining har qanday ko‘rinishdagi o‘zgarishi kanal bo‘ylab gidravlik to‘lqinlar tarqalishiga va quyi b‘eflardagi iste’molchilarning suv ta’minotiga keskin ta’sir ko‘rsatadi.
