Abstract

Abstract. This article presents a contrastive analysis of aphorisms expressed in the form of complex sentences in English and Uzbek languages. Aphorisms, as concise and meaningful expressions of wisdom, often employ complex syntactic structures to convey deep philosophical, moral, or social ideas. The study focuses on the structural, semantic, and stylistic features of complex sentences used in aphorisms, highlighting similarities and differences between the two languages. The research reveals that while both languages use complex sentences to enhance expressiveness, they differ in syntactic organization, clause relations, and stylistic preferences due to typological distinctions.
