Abstract

Ocean pollution caused by plastics has emerged as a critical environmental issue in the modern world. Ocean pollution from plastics has become one of the most important environmental problems that humanity faces today. The combination of widespread plastic product usage together with ineffective waste management systems and excessive plastic consumption practices results in substantial amounts of plastic waste entering oceans each year. This article investigates the main origins of plastic pollution which include single-use plastics and industrial waste and improper waste disposal methods. The research investigates how these activities endanger marine ecosystems through their destruction of wildlife and their disruption of food networks and their creation of permanent environmental damage. The assessment includes both the effects on human health and the economic consequences for coastal communities. The annotation highlights possible solutions which consist of two main approaches which include decreasing plastic consumption and increasing recycling rates and creating public awareness and implementing more stringent governmental regulations. The fight against ocean plastic pollution needs international partnerships together with environmentally sustainable changes in human conduct.
