Abstract

Abstract: This article examines pre-election speeches from a pragmalinguistic perspective, focusing on how political speakers strategically employ language to influence audiences, construct ideological positions, and achieve persuasive communicative goals [6, 7]. In modern political communication, campaign speeches function not only as tools for information transfer but also as powerful instruments of persuasion, emotional influence, and identity construction [3, 11]. The study explores pragmatic mechanisms embedded in political discourse, including speech acts, deixis, implicature, presupposition, and persuasive linguistic strategies [2, 5]. Special attention is given to the manipulation of lexical choices, grammatical structures, and contextual references that enable politicians to establish trust, create solidarity, and shape public opinion [4, 9]. Using discourse analysis and pragmalinguistic methods, this research demonstrates that successful political speeches largely depend on the speaker’s ability to adapt linguistic choices to sociocultural expectations and audience psychology [7, 11].
