Diplomatic discourse plays a central role in international relations, where language functions as a tool for negotiation, cooperation, and mutual understanding [2]. English, as a global lingua franca, dominates diplomatic communication, especially in international organizations, treaties, summits, and official correspondence. This article examines the formal style and pragmatic features of English in diplomatic discourse. It analyzes linguistic, lexical, grammatical, and stylistic characteristics, as well as pragmatic strategies that contribute to the clarity, politeness, and effectiveness of international communication. The study also highlights practical implications for teaching English in diplomacy and for professional communicators.
