THE INFLUENCE OF INTERNATIONAL TOURISM ON THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF UZBEKISTAN UNDER GLOBALIZATION

Abstract

International tourism has become an increasingly significant contributor to the economic development of many countries. For Uzbekistan, tourism is not only a source of revenue but also a way to integrate into the global economy. This article analyzes the impact of international tourism on Uzbekistan’s economy, focusing on employment, income generation, foreign exchange earnings, and regional development. Key challenges, including infrastructure constraints, revenue leakage, and vulnerability to external shocks, are also discussed. The study uses qualitative analysis of academic literature, government reports, and policy documents. Findings suggest that while tourism has substantial potential to support economic growth in Uzbekistan, its long-term success depends on sustainable and inclusive strategies.
