This article analyzes the cultural and linguistic characteristics of greeting and farewell forms in English and Uzbek languages. The study highlights how these communicative acts reflect national mentality, social hierarchy, politeness norms, and traditions. Comparative analysis shows that while English greetings focus on neutrality and individualism, Uzbek greetings emphasize respect, collectivity, and warmth. The results contribute to intercultural communication studies and foreign language teaching by showing how social and cultural factors influence linguistic behavior.
