In the modern educational environment, the development of students’ intellectual abilities is considered one of the main goals of education. Among these abilities, critical thinking occupies a central place because it enables learners to analyze information, evaluate arguments, and make reasoned decisions. The purpose of this article is to examine the importance of critical thinking in modern education and its role in students’ intellectual and personal development. The article analyzes theoretical perspectives on critical thinking, discusses its importance in the learning process, and explores teaching strategies that can help develop this skill among students. The study shows that critical thinking helps learners become independent thinkers, improves their problem-solving abilities, and prepares them for the challenges of the modern information society. The article concludes that educational institutions should actively integrate critical thinking into teaching practices in order to prepare students for lifelong learning and professional success.
