Abstract

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) and chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) are increasingly recognized as major health risks among boxers due to repetitive head impacts. This article examines the relationship between CTE and psychological disorders, including depression, anxiety, impulsivity, aggression, and cognitive decline. It explores neuropathological mechanisms, clinical manifestations, and long-term behavioral consequences. Understanding this association is essential for early diagnosis, prevention strategies, and improved mental health support for athletes exposed to repetitive brain trauma.
