Abstract

This article analyzes the ways of translating the concept of consensus from English into Uzbek from both linguistic and cultural perspectives. It examines the semantic scope of the word “consensus” in English, as well as its socio-psychological and communicative connotations. Furthermore, it identifies possible equivalents in the Uzbek language and compares their semantic, stylistic, and pragmatic features. The study also discusses the challenges that may arise during the translation process, such as conveying cultural connotations, choosing contextually appropriate equivalents, and avoiding semantic shifts. The findings provide recommendations for ensuring accurate and contextually appropriate translation of the concept “consensus” into Uzbek.
