Abstract

This article analyzes modern approaches to assessing communicative competence. It highlights the importance of the communicative approach in language learning, the criteria for assessing students' speech activity, and assessment systems based on international standards. It also examines the role of formative and summative assessment methods, authentic tasks, and tests based on real-life situations. The research results show that modern assessment approaches serve to develop students' practical language skills and increase the effectiveness of education.
