Abstract

This article examines the multifaceted nature of professionalism within the
teaching vocation. It moves beyond the traditional view of teaching as a mere job,
instead positioning it as a dynamic profession that requires a unique blend of
specialized knowledge, ethical integrity, and a lifelong commitment to growth. The
discussion highlights the importance of reflective practice, the ethical dimensions of
the teacher-student relationship, and the role of continuous professional development
in maintaining high standards of education. By exploring how professionalism
manifests in both the classroom and the wider community, this study underscores the
teacher’s role as a transformative agent in society
