Abstract

Grammar is a fundamental component of language proficiency, and
mastering it is essential for effective communication in English. Despite this, learners
frequently make common grammatical errors that hinder comprehension and fluency.
This study explores the most frequent grammatical mistakes made by English learners
and identifies practical strategies to prevent them. A qualitative approach was
employed, including literature review and classroom observations. Findings indicate
that errors in verb tense, subject-verb agreement, articles, and prepositions are the most
widespread. Effective interventions, including targeted practice, corrective feedback,
and explicit grammar instruction, significantly reduce these errors. The study
highlights the importance of systematic grammar teaching and learner awareness in
promoting accurate and confident language use.
