Abstract

Abstract
This article explores the role of translation as a crucial bridge in intercultural
communication. In an increasingly globalized world, translation serves not merely as
a  linguistic  conversion  process  but  as  a  means  of  transmitting  cultural  values,
ideologies, and worldviews between societies. The study analyzes how translators act
as cultural mediators who adapt meaning, context, and style to ensure comprehension
across  different  cultural  backgrounds.  Translation  errors  or  literal  renderings  can
distort  meaning,  while  successful  translation  fosters  understanding,  tolerance,  and
collaboration. By examining examples from English–Uzbek translation practices, the
article  highlights  the  challenges  of  cultural  equivalence  and  idiomatic  adaptation.
Special  attention  is  paid  to  the  role  of  translation  in  diplomacy,  education,  and
literature, where it promotes mutual respect and intellectual exchange. The findings
emphasize that translation is not only a linguistic act but a form of cultural dialogue
essential for global interaction and harmony.
