Abstract

Abstract 
This  study  evaluated  the  phenological  development  of  potato  (Solanum 
tuberosum L.) varieties Arizona, O‘zbekiston Qizili, Aqrar, Liliya, and Venger Rozsa, 
together  with  the  breeding  lines  MIKS,  N-1,  and  N-2,  under  the  agroecological 
conditions of Yangiqo‘rg‘on District, Namangan Region, Uzbekistan. The research 
was conducted in 2026 at the Namangan Experimental Station of the Research Institute 
of Vegetable, Melon Crops and Potato within the framework of the potato breeding 
and  seed  production  program.  Phenological  observations  included  the  onset  and 
duration  of  emergence,  budding,  flowering,  tuber  initiation,  and  physiological 
maturity. The results revealed considerable variation among the tested varieties and 
breeding lines in their rates of phenological development. The variety  O‘zbekiston 
Qizili and breeding line N-1 exhibited relatively short growing periods, whereas Aqrar 
and the MIKS breeding line were characterized by comparatively longer vegetation 
periods.  The  findings  provide  valuable  scientific  evidence  for  the  selection  of 
promising potato varieties and breeding lines, the development of regionally adapted 
seed materials, and the improvement of the primary seed production system under local 
environmental conditions.
